A True Autumn’s Day

Happy Sunday lovelies!

To kick off 2016, I’m going to be sharing some photos from my boyfriend and I’s birthday weekend back in November. I’ve been meaning to get my birthday pictures up, but I misplaced my SD card and could not edit them during my vacation. Have no fear because I found them (obviously)!

In case you didn’t know, my boyfriend and I are only a day apart. He was born November 25th, and I was born November 26th. I surprised him on his birthday by decorating his room with balloons, streamers, and a cake. After many pictures, none of which I captured on my DSLR, we took our dog for a walk. We found this park that had the most perfect autumn setting. If you’ve ever live in Texas, you know that autumn is a rare site. It’ll last for a week or two, but most of the time it’s like summer shifts right into winter. The sun was peeking through the clouds that day and the leaves were just in the midst of changing colors. It was a perfect autumn’s day.

Meet Novi

DSC_0003

Surprise!

A second post within a week? Yes it is!

Say hello to my new, furry best friend. This is Novi. He is a stray cat that stumbled upon my front door on the night of Halloween. While standing at my front steps to greet friends for a night of pumpkin carving, I heard several meows in the distant. Out of the shadows stumbled the tiny kitten that hesitantly approached me. Eventually, I gained Novi’s trust as a reciprocated his begs for head scratches. I grabbed him some left over kitten food I had laying around, and poor Novi scarfed the food down so fast. He was meowing so loudly as he ate; I knew he had to have been starving for a while now.

We left Novi out for the night, wondering if he belonged to someone else. But the next day, Novi was up in the trees waiting for us to feed him again. We decided to take him in as it was obvious he would not be leaving. We decided to name him Novi since he joined our family on November 1st. I am so thankful I happened to be outside on Halloween night to hear Novi’s cry. To think someone left to starve makes me so sad. No worries though, he gets plenty of cuddles and kisses from me now!

Autumn & Denim

Can you believe November is already here? It feels like yesterday I was celebrating New Years back in California.

During October, this local farmers market in my town kept catching my eye. It had beautiful flowers for sale along with pumpkins galore! After my 3 1/2 hour perm appointment (reason for my crazy waves), my cousin and I stopped by on our way to a local coffeeshop to do a quick outfit of the day. I found this denim jacket for only $21 at Forever 21 a few weeks ago, and it’s absolutely perfect. It’s so affordable, and the quality is great for Forever 21. I’ve been on the lookout for a denim jacket for a while, but most of the ones I find are too expensive or are blinged out to the max. Next on my list is a bomber jacket. If you know of any good ones, please leave me a comment and I’d love to check it out!
